Graves Brothers Company was founded in 1895 as a southern sawmill
and lumber company. The company owned sawmills in Alabama, northwest
Florida and in Wabasso, Florida. In the early 1920's when the timber
cutting was completed, some of the cut over land was drained and planted
with citrus fruit and vegetable crops.
Today Graves Brothers Company is still owned by the same Graves family
and is run by the third and fourth generation of the family. It is
located in Wabasso, Florida in the same location since 1915. It operates
a fresh citrus fruit packing facility and 7,200 plus acres of producing
citrus orchards.
Graves Brothers Company is the oldest company of continuous existence
that grows and ships Indian River citrus fruit from Florida, USA.
